Echos of the High Plains
Throughout history, countless events have started, or ended, underneath a shadetree. The ‘Shadetree’ could be a place to find comfort and rest, sign treaties, make love, contemplate life, hangout or, hang an outlaw.
For me, "Shadetree is also a man. John ‘Shadetree’ Ivory was a black man and a mechanic by trade, cutting out a living in a brutal west Texas oil town. He was the real deal; he could ‘fix’ anything with wheels, and he did it with a kind-hearted smile.
